Efficient recycling

Batteries contain valuable raw materials that must be recovered and fed into the raw materials cycle. Batteries can also contain harmful substances such as lead, cadmium or mercury and therefore they must be professionally recycled and treated by authorised recyclers. The sorting and recycling of old batteries from households and devices is handled by Relux Rohstoffe GmbH & Co. KG in Bad Oeynhausen, a company belonging to the Relux Group.

Batterierecyclin

Batteries are mainly made of metals that can be fully recycled. Metals such as zinc, manganese, iron and possibly mercury that the batteries contain are recovered during battery processing. These metals can be returned to the materials cycle as secondary raw materials. Separation takes place during the sorting stage according to battery types, whereby targeted recovery is ensured.

Zinc-carbon and alkaline-manganese batteries are mechanically dismantled in our own battery recycling plant and the recovered raw materials are fed into the economic cycle. Our high-quality and modern plant technology installation meets all the requirements for resource efficiency, occupational safety and environmental protection. Continuous investment and maintenance also place great value on plant availability, so that constant acceptance readiness and material acceptance efficiency are guaranteed.

Relux is a competent and innovative contact partner for owners of used household batteries from all over Europe due to our intensive advice regarding separation, possible pre-sorting and the design of container and transporting solutions. Take-back systems and producers appreciate Relux's service and reliability regarding delivery and recycling. Providing the required documentation about recovery quotas and proof of whereabouts is a matter of course for Relux.
